Yesterday 5th grade visited Ft. McHenry to take part of the living flag. Over 6,000 students from around the state came together to create the largest living flag in our nation's history! What a special day to be a part of. The living flag was organized as a way to help students celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner and Baltimore's role in the War of 1812. Our students learned a lot as we waited to form one of the white stripes in the American Flag. Ask your child why the flag looks a little different than it does today. Some of our students even made the news! Be sure to check out the links below to take a look. Enjoy!

i loved the living flag because we got to see the mayor,and i always wanted to see the mayor in person and not on tv.
