As part of the life science unit, all of the 5th grade classes have been using microscopes to analyze and identify animal and plant cells. They looked at onion epidermis, a goldfish scale, a piece of a butterfly wing, and the piece of a carnation stem. Ask your child which slide was their favorite!
On Monday September 14, 5C had the pleasure of going on the Snow Goose. We had a great time looking at what was a the bottom of the river, the different ways that Baltimore is cleaning the river, and fishing. We were able to learn about and see the garbage boat that picks up trash that floats into the river. We also caught 18 fish and 8 crabs!!! We had a great time and learned about how can make sure to keep the river a clean place for us and the animals to enjoy.
