Reading and Language Arts
Students are asked to read for at least 100 minutes each week. They will be given a reading log every Friday to be due the next Friday. Students may choose which days and how long to read each day. Students must also answer 3 questions on what they read. Parents are asked to sign the reading log each week to verify that their child has been reading for the specified amount of time. The reading log document is attached below. Please take a look at the attached document and let Ms. Gutting know if you have any questions!
Students may also have another Reading comprehension or vocabulary homework each night. All assignments should be written in the agenda each day. Please check with your child daily to make sure they are both writing down and completing these assignments. The current vocabulary assignment is attached below. All homework is due on Fridays.
Math
Students are asked to practice their basic multiplication facts for 5-7 minutes each night. They are also responsible for completing a math worksheet that is provided to them on a daily basis. The math worksheet can be found in the left side of their homework folder. We are currently following the scope and sequence for Engaged N.Y.
