On Friday students spent some time at the Maryland Historical Society in Mt. Vernon. There students continued their research of The Battle of Baltimore. Students looked at artifacts from the time period and gained a better understanding of what life was like in Baltimore in 1814. Students also worked with primary source documents from the MDHS Archives and learned about events and other logistics on Hampstead Hill leading up to the Battle of Baltimore. All of their research will be important for the Star Spangled Banner National Historic Trail community service project.
